Gina- great job on the video. The most eye opening slide was the survey of your students. Wow! I'd be curious of their reaction if you showed them the video. Do THEY think they'll "be ready"?
I was going to say the same thing! I am happy you surveyed your students. I am saddened to say that I was not surprised about the number that would come to school if they didn't have to. I wonder what would our society become if we did not make school mandatory. Your movie was great. Do you plan on showing it to your students or parents? Good job!
I also liked the slide where you surveyed your students and think it is so sad that they undervalue (is that a word!) their educational opportunities. I liked the point you made about education starting at home. I think so many parents don't take the time to stress the importance of education with their children. More time needs to be spent reading, problem solving, and spending quality family time together.
Yeah very cool video! And you have sound haha! I thought it was very informative and I liked how you incorporated the quotes from the books we read. I would be curious to hear your students reactions too! Maybe they will be ready....only time will tell!
Do you think your students don't want to be there because they lack the relevance of school? K-12 is the only time in life that one has to be "good" at everything. Every day for six hours a day they have to learn about things they may not find relevant. But eventually most people recognize and value education and if they just explore their interest have a very limited very of society. By the way great video with significant information from our previous readings.
